Kathryn Elizabeth Williamson explores various medium through an action-based practice. Her inspiration comes from observing her surroundings and translating that experience into a work of art. She enjoys laughter and views humor as critical to cultural survival. Williamson was interviewed during a live performances for Off Beat Stories aired on CNN, the CBS evening news in Edmonton, Canada, Tough Crowd of Comedy Central, and News radio WCBS 880 AM of New York City. In one of her performances she drove two different vintage Streetcars. Williamson has performed on streets around the globe and has and shown work nationally as well as internationally in venues including Yerba Buena for the Arts, SculptureCenter, Diverse Works and was included in a project at the VIII Biennial of Havana in 2003. She received her BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and is a current New Genres Fellow and MFA candidate.
